"For You" Get Creative July Card Challenge

I can mark another challenge off my list.  It might be last minute, but I'll take that!!!  I fell in love with the July card sketch at Get Creative when I saw it earlier this month and really wanted to take on the challenge.  I still had my papers out from Webster's Pages Everyday Poetry collection and thought why not use them to create this card for my mom.

Here is their July sketch:
It's been another rough week with my mom's health and my sister and I have had a lot of issues to tackle.  I made this card for my mom and truly do hope that she will enjoy it.  Lately no matter what I do for her she is always negative towards me.  It's so sad to see what the Alzheimers has done to her brain and the way it processes things.

Some fussy cut work along with a metal frame by Making Memories!

Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend.  We got some much needed rain last night and some cooler temperatures today.  Hope the nice weather can stay for awhile.

Thanks for stopping by!

Kindered Spirits . . . Special Friends - OUAS July Challenge

Imagine that, two posts in one day!  Haven't seen that from me in awhile.  I've been wanting to join in on the July sketch challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch and just finished putting the final touches on my layout a few minutes ago.  The theme this month is friends, and I chose a picture of my Grandmother and her neighbor and friend, Mrs. Wells.  The two of them were as different as could be.  One short, one tall.  One soft spoken, one outspoken.  One neat and tidy, the other messy and cluttered. One enjoyed the simple life and was content, the other always dreaming of living a grand life.  As different as they were they always enjoyed the time they spent together. As a child I loved spending time together with the both of them and always enjoyed the special bond they had together as friends.

I loved the sketch Nadia created for this challenge:
I used Webster's Pages Everyday Poetry collection for my layout.  Here are a few closeups:
Tucked beneath the yellow paper is my journaling.

I did a lot of fussy cut work with the papers and added some crochet flowers I had in my stash.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I'm spending the day tomorrow with my sister.  Can't wait as we have a lot of special things planned for the day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Don't worry, it isn't me, just the title of my layout.  I am still struggling with my creativity but was happy to create a layout using the July kit from Artful Delight and the new Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs, a one word title.
Another layout for my friend Julina's album and a cute picture of her and her sweet little one, Zoey. Gotta love those little ones and their moods!
Here are a few closeups:
There are still a few July kits left at Artful Delight.  If you would like to order one you can check out the contents here.  If you didn't see my post from Wednesday, Artful Delight's August Scrapbook and Card Kits are up for sale.  I enjoyed putting these kits together. Check out my post here.

I started another layout last night and that in its self is a hugh step forward for me.  Hope to get it completed and posted by the weekend.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Of Butterflies and Bees . . .

As I sat outside on my front porch  this morning drinking my morning fix of coffee I could hear the buzzing of the bees getting their daily fix of sweetness from the flowers.  Amidst the bees, busily flying from flower to flower was a butterfly. I quickly ran inside and grabbed my camera, hoping that it would be there when I returned outside.  Not only was it there, is was as though it knew I was taking pictures of it and so gracefully posed.

Ah, the beauty of nature and all of God's little creatures . . .

Here's a little sneak peek of a layout I will be sharing with you tomorrow.  Really working hard on getting back my desire to scrapbook and though I may not be getting a lot done, a few here and there is better then none.

My how time flies . . .

Hard to believe that two weeks have passed by since I posted a layout.  Sometimes life gets busy and my crafty time gets put on the back burner.  We had a spell of extreme heat that seemed like it would never end, along with some powerful storms that resulted in a loss of electricity for a few days.  I've totally neglected my flower gardens and the weeds have taken over.  Cooler temps have arrived and I've been busy outside tending to the weeds.  I've also been working on getting my scrapbook room better organized.  It seems like an endless job and I've been amazed at what I have come across that was purchased years ago.  Hoping to get a little pile together for a giveaway soon.  I do have a layout to share today that I created using the July kit  and sketch from Artful Delight and another cute picture of little miss Zoey and her first bike.

Here is the July sketch:

There are still a few scrapbook and card kits to purchase over at Artful Delight.  You can check them out here.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer.  It's hard to believe that it's July already.  As I said in my title "My how time flies . . ."
