Guest Designing For My Creative Scrapbook

I'm excited to announce that I'm guest designing the next few months for My Creative Scrapbook, using their beautiful Limited Edition kits!  Thanks Pam for inviting me.  I really enjoyed working with the lovely August LE kit filled with Prima's Debutante paper, chipboard and flowers.  I created 3 layouts and one tag.

The romantic Prima papers and flowers along with Blue Fern Studio's chipboard were perfect for this layout featuring a picture of my mom.

Also included in the LE edition kit were a couple of papers from Blue Fern Studios Love Story collection.  Can you guess who that is in the picture?!?

I found the vintage photo on Pinterest.  Lots of layering and fussy cutting!

This is my first time using one of Julie Nutting's doll stamps.  It was a lot of fun!

The Limited Edition kit can be found here and my blog post at My Creative Scrapbook here.

Two Layouts Featuring Blue Fern Studios Frolic Collection

Hi eveyone!  Hope all of you are enjoying the summer.  Hard to believe that August is half over.  My how time flies! Today I have 2 layouts to share that I created with the new Frolic collection by Blue Fern Studios, along with their gorgeous chipboard and stamps.  I love the colors in this collection, perfect for your summer photos.

My first layout highlights the Amoroso, Dans le Jardin, Friendship and Calling Cards paper.  I thought they were perfect for a somewhat masculine layout.
Lots of layering behind my photo and some fussy cutting.

I used the Collage Border and Bits of Honey chipboard, both of which I primed with some gesso and then colored with water colors.

My flower cluster on the right hand side along with some of the Bits Of Honey chipboard.

As you can see I again used some of the Bits Of Honey chipboard and the word Noted from the Arrow Words which I colored with some water color paints.

My next layout is a feminine one.  Love the pretty color combinations in the background paper, Mercantile. I also used the Friendship and Calling Cards papers.
Lots of subtle stamping with the Forever and Vintage stamps.

From the Arrow Words I used Love This, which I covered with gesso and applied some gelatos.   I also used the Gatsby Collage which I also covered with gesso and then added some gelatos and micro beads

Tucked beneath my cluster of flowers in the new Floral Lattice Bits chipboard.

Here I used more of the Floral Lattice Bits and added some micro beads.

Blue Fern Studios August Sketch Challenge

It's time for another new sketch challenge over at Blue Fern Studios
Michele Singh has created another beautiful sketch exclusively for Blue Fern!   Here is my take on the August sketch using papers from the new Frolic paper collection.

And here is the August sketch:

Here are the sketch challenge rules:

In addition, we will also select 3 (or more) layouts to feature.
We have just a few simple rules to follow if you would like to participate in our sketch challenge:
1.) Feel free to interpret the sketch as you please by means of taking it as-is or
flipping/turning/mirroring it to suit your needs!
2). Please note that you can do whatever type of project you please - a layout, card,
canvas, altered item- whatever suits your mood and style!
We would love to see the different ways our sketch can be used.
3.) You must use at least one piece of Blue Fern Studios chipboard OR use Blue Fern Studios paper on your project. Please note that you do not need to use the pieces featured in the sketch
